Building the Future

The App Developers

Who builds this app depends on one thing — the support of this industry.

Where things stand today

Who the developers are depends on the support of this industry. This industry builds this app — together.

What We Know About the Build

We have been advised that an app of this scope — a worldwide, multilingual, AI-powered cut flower identification and commerce platform — will take roughly 18 months to develop from the point funding is secured. That clock starts the moment the industry says yes. The commerce layer may take a little longer.

Every flower shop will be asked to contribute. Growers will be asked shortly after. The earlier the support arrives, the sooner the right partner is selected — and the sooner that 18-month clock begins. The middle of the supply chain will help fund the ongoing expense once its shape is clearer.

What We're Looking For

The temptation is to hire whoever has already built a flower app. We think that is the wrong test. Most firms advertising "flower delivery apps" have built simple single-shop storefronts — not a worldwide, multilingual platform that identifies flowers by sight, moves perishable product through a cold chain, and connects thousands of florists and growers across every major market. Almost no one has built exactly that. So we are not screening for a floral résumé. We are screening for the firms that have already solved the genuinely hard parts of this build.

Multi-sided marketplaces — platforms that connect many sellers to many buyers, the core of our model.
Perishable & cold-chain logistics — the experience that separates flowers from ordinary e-commerce.
AI visual identification — recognizing flower type, variety, and quality from an image.
Multilingual scale — one platform that works in every language and every market.

Judged that way, a shorter list of proven firms rises to the top — companies capable of building a platform on the level of the world's best (a Floward-class build) rather than a storefront. The firms below are strong candidates in each region we're speaking with. These are companies we are evaluating, not final selections; the choice will follow the industry's support and a direct comparison of proposals.

For a full explanation of how this comes together, who is being asked to take part, and what that support makes possible, please read our Get Involved page. It covers everything in detail — including how each flower shop and grower can participate and what they can expect in return. There is even a message for end users.

Thank you for your patience, your trust, and your support. This app will be built by this industry, for this industry. When it launches, everyone who believed in it from the beginning will know they were part of something that changed the floral world.
