Why This Website Exists

Website Explained

This website needs some explaining. Here it is.

The Purpose

WE'VE SEEN THIS BEFORE

This has already happened in music, wine, craft beer, and travel. Each of those industries went through a shift — and the people closest to the craft came out with a stronger voice and more control than they'd ever had. Floriculture is next. For us, the shift is a change in message: from marketing the flower to marketing the skill of the florist. That's the conversation this site exists to start. Several ideas are laid out inside for us to discuss — this space is for the industry, not the general public. We will get through this together.

Your Businesses Are Declining

As florists, you have poured your heart and soul into your floral business. While some survive, others fail. The flower shops that succeed — some would not mind less competition. We understand that instinct. But we ask you to look at the bigger picture. We want all flower shops to succeed and grow. Because when flower shops grow, the industry grows. And right now the population of flower shops is on the decline — and that decline is everybody's problem.

This website is designed for a kickstart group of florists to help motivate the rest of the floral industry to follow. It's time to upset the flower cart. We cannot simply blame supermarkets or Google, and leave it there. We need to point the finger with purpose. Not to make everyone comfortable — but because that discomfort is how an industry changes. This website was designed to drive emotion. To drive concern. Because emotion is the engine of action, and action is the only thing that will move this industry forward.

"It is the emotions that drive change. We needed to point the finger at someone. So we chose the entire middle of the floral industry — because that is where the marketing is funded."

Why We Point the Finger

This website was created to help people find their emotions. We did not point the finger at one marketing element or one association. We went to the core — to the way marketing in this industry is funded, controlled, and directed. Not to destroy it. But to name it. Because you cannot fix what you refuse to acknowledge.

This is not a fancy website built for everyone to see. It is only the first. What comes next will be built by the members and belief of the industry it serves. This website is meant only to get the words out and to drive emotion — because florists must know by now that something is off about the cut flower industry.

Some will be made uncomfortable by what they read here. That is intentional. Discomfort is not the enemy — complacency is. If this website makes someone in the middle of this industry sit up straighter, ask harder questions, or lose a night of sleep — then it is doing exactly what it was designed to do.

The Snowball Theory

This website was designed to drive a kickstart group of funding — where, as people see others contribute, the hope is that they will too. This is a proven theory that has worked for so many crowdfunding platforms before us. The money that needs to be raised is in the millions. That will come in time, because this industry has millions to spend. The goal right now is simply to get the ball rolling.

How a Snowball Grows

1

The First Florists Act

A small founders group of florists who believe in the mission join and tell others. The snowball starts small—but it starts.

2

Others See It Moving

The industry watches. When florists see other florists contributing, they join. The snowball grows. Social proof is the most powerful force in crowdfunding.

3

Growers & the Middle Follow

As momentum builds, growers and then the middle of the chain are invited in. Each phase adds weight. The snowball doubles in size.

4

The Industry Watches Us Succeed — for Them

This website was designed to build a snowball while the industry watches it grow — so the industry can watch us succeed for them. That is the entire strategy. Nothing more. Nothing less.
